Going off-grid means more than just buying your home — you’ll need water, power, and a wastewater solution too. This guide gives you a clear pathway with typical costs, so you know what to plan for when setting up your new whare.

All homes are pre-wired, pre-plumbed, and ready to connect.

• 20ft Expandable Home (2 bedrooms): $28,200 (incl. GST & freight)

We recommend a 25,000L Kiwi Tank for reliable water storage.

• Includes outlet fittings, lid, colour options, and delivery nationwide.
   
• $3,400 incl. GST & delivery
   

A water pump is also required to deliver water from your tank into the home.

• Typical cost: $800 – $1,500 installed (depends on brand/size).
   
• Provides steady pressure for showers, toilets, kitchen, and laundry.
   

As these are off-grid homes, wastewater is the responsibility of the customer.

• Options may include composting toilet systems.
   
• Customers arrange and install the system that best suits their whenua.

Our most popular choice is a 5kW off-grid solar system.

• Approx. $25,000 installed
   
• Includes panels, inverter, and battery bank
   
• 2-day setup + travel (cost may vary by location)
   

B. Connect to Existing House Power
If you prefer, your expandable home can be wired into an existing dwelling or supply by a licensed electrician.

• Requires a 32-amp connection
   
• Approx. $1,400 or more depending on site and setup
